Yum! :)

One of the girls I work with (Heather) baked me blue cupcakes for my last day of work :)

They're arranged in a pattern, and on the tops of them she spelled out "Thanks for all the fish!" I was telling her a few months ago about the shirt I'm making with that on it, from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And she remembered! Wow :)

Anyway, hooray for cupcakes! They brighten up any day!

Emmys!!! Whee!! The first time I've been excited about them in a long time!! I have to choose between House and 24 (Hugh and Kiefer!!) but I think I'll lean toward Hugh because it'd be his first award of this kind. Oh man...can't they give them BOTH one? :) And then there's Lost, which has some great noms too. I'm definitely watching the Emmys in LA :)

What do you think of the whole Desparate Housewives phenom? 15 noms is an awful lot-- but in the comedy category rather than drama. Anyways, what is your educated opinion on the show?

Lol - not sure you want my educated opinion. :) I tried watching it once, and I got about 1/2 way through it. It reminded me a lot of the show I was working on in Orlando - a soap opera. It's not my cup of tea, but I guess since it's so popular other people like their tea that way :) lol.

Personally, I tend to dislike when one thing (tv, movie, etc) hogs all the noms (unless it's LOTR - lol!) just because I feel like the voters are paying more attention to the hype than the quality. That being said, 24, House, and Lost got tons of noms and I think they're perfectly deserving, so I guess I've got a double standard going on. :)

I can see what you're saying-- it's all about what you like in your tea. I can say the same for House and 24, not really interesting to me, BUT Lost is really fantastic. It's JJ Abrams, isn't it? I love Alias too (although I can see it getting a little more... stale as time goes on).

what's gonna be really exciting is when you're gonna be actually at the emmy's and we all crowd around the screen waiting for your glam face! :)

Yum. Cupcakes. That was really nice of your coworker! Harry Potter is out tomorrow--or today? I forgot. I'm one of those dorks who pre-ordered ;) Thanks much for taking the time to read the 'essay.' It went ok. It was a second draft, so I'm revising for focus because I'm scatter-brained. And flowery. And I'm getting a complex about the whole matter. When are you going to be home again? I need to write things down now. My memory's not so sharp anymore, and I keep thinking that it is! I end the semester Aug. 5. But yeah, I hope I can see you before you leave!
